My mom called me yesterday to remind me that 10 years ago today, I was hit in the head with a glass bottle at the free Smashing Pumpkins concert. I got seven stitches and one scar to the eyebrow. At the time it was an empty parking lot, now that city block is known as "Block E" with a Gameworks, Applebees, Hooters, Starbucks and the Graves hotel. Oh, yeah and a Hard Rock Cafe. Thanks mom for the memories.
Today I started off the day with a bike to work. I was a bit more tired today since I got home late from work and school project group fun. I was making good time as the ride takes me about 40 minutes, I was just getting to the edge of downtown Minneapolis with 10 minutes to spare when a pedestrian and I both speed up to cross the street before the light changed. I was already going rather fast after a nice descent off a hill, I moved to avoid the walker. I missed my usual path into Loring park and had to swerve to miss the light post, and subsequently ran into the bus stop bench on the corner of Hennepin and Oak Grove across the street from the Walker. I was a litte disoriented, but okay. My shin hit the bench- I have a pretty badass bruise forming. I was just a little tired and a bit disoriented for the last 10 minuites. Adding insuly to injury, the bikers that I had passed 20 blocks earlier caught up and passed me for the last seven blocks into work.
Ahh, good times.
I am supposed to be training for the TC-10 mile race in October, I biked 30 miles this week and ran zero. I'm pretty sure my cross training should not out number my actual training...

Its like somehow the bus system was going to get its revenge for you not taking the bus today. But really, that sounds like it hurt. At least you didn't flip over the bench (I hope).
