I've lost my lifeline.

This week has been crazy and weird and has ended with me losing my iphone.

I'm going to go a weekend without a phone.

I might not make it...

Online Profiles.

For some reason I've been thinking about "if someone tried to find me online, what would they find?" and "would I want them to find this?".

I'm not sure.

When people started to tell me "hey I found your blog" it creeped me out. I don't know why though-- I'm posting something out into the world for all to read, it's not that hard to find me. But then again, that was 2003 and we didn't have facebook or twitter to answer all of our questions of what other people we once knew are up to and pretty much the only way for someone to find me was to type my name into google. But all of this brings up new questions, of "do I want people to find me/this?" and "who am I writing for?". I identify target audiences at work, so I'm always thinking about that, but yet, I don't know who's actually reading my crazy rants about working too much or running. When I started blogging in 2003, it was a way to keep up with my study abroad friends. They were the only people that I knew were reading this and that was just fine. We wanted to stay in touch and at the time, it was the easiest way to do so. Now, that's just not the case. Twitter and facebook are all so much quicker and easier, yet I continue to write about myself?

It makes me feel very self centered and that I want people to look at me. But, I don't. I sort of like just sulking around in the background and seeing who stops bye. I don't really publish the address anywhere, so I know if someone finds me, they had to try a little bit. I also keep writing because I like to read my friends blogs. I like knowing what they are up to and how their lives are going, so I guess I keep writing for them. Does my silly little blog need a purpose or do I need to know who's reading?

Not today... but someday.

I do know what decade it is.

Things I've tweeted about this week that I feel need further explanation...

Last Thursday I was going for a walk to Walgreen's. What I was wearing didn't have pockets, so I was looking around my house for my fanny pack to wear so I wouldn't have to drag my purse along with me. To my dismay, I have lost my fanny pack (or Adam secretly threw it away so I could no longer use it...). In my defense, I mostly use it for bike excursions and running/walking. It has made its way into a few costumes too... When I bought it, I bought it with one intention- to bike somewhere to run and bike back home. I needed someplace to store all my stuff, but also couldn't leave it on my bike, hello fanny pack. Last summer, I used it almost everyday when I was biking around all time. It was great, now its lost so I'll have to go get another one... Hello 1980.

I've been working on couple projects at work that involve me carrying notes around, my notebook, my pencil(s). It's getting a little difficult to juggle them all, so I'm pretty sure the best solution is a trapper keeper. That's my next mission, find a trapper keeper so I can look really cool at work.

Today I accessorized with red. I was making a "Heather's" joke (because the leader Heather always wore red), but no one I was talking to had actually seen the movie. It was so sad. It appears there is a gap in viewing for people under the age of 25. I've always been a wannabe 80's kid. I loved (and still do) 80's movies, but clearly if you were born mid-late 80's you just don't care.

Heather's was the original Mean Girls. Watch it.

Pay it forward.

This week was a weird week. Normally I'm pretty much chained to my desk at work and rarely leave. That's nice because I usually get a lot of work done, but the past two weeks I've been running around so much it feels like I'm never at my desk. This week, 9 of us from my department went and volunteered at the Ronald McDonald house on the U of M campus. It was really nice to get out of the office for a couple of hours and throw a party with the kids there. I think most of us were stressed out about the work we were leaving behind, but once we got there and got to hang out with the kids, I knew work could wait.

On Thursday, a friend from work and I went to St. Thomas to talk to their ad club. It was great getting to see how excited students are about advertising. Again, it was one of those things I didn't really have time for, but I'm really glad I made the time for it.

It's nice to sometimes just stop and pay it forward.

Doing it all.

I have a hard time saying no to things. Mostly its because I want to do it all. I spend my days at work finding out what makes people tick- what do they do in their free time, how they think, what their goals are. I usually pick about 3 or 4 things to help us understand the audience. Lately, I've been wondering about if I tried to profile myself. I don't think I could narrow it down to just 3 or 4 things. I like a little bit of everything, except maybe professional sports. That is one area I know almost nothing about. I like playing sports, but I don't know anything about the people who get paid to play them... anyway, not the point...

I'm not sure what's going on with this month, but its going a little bit crazy. Last week started off just fine, but by Friday the crazy kicked in and hasn't stopped. I have a hard time even believing that its only Wednesday because this week has already felt like the longest week ever. I've been busy at work, as per usual, but this week I also tried to do things after work which is proving difficult. Monday was an ad event, Tuesday was planning my high school reunion, tonight was meeting someone I'm co-hosting a group with. Usually when I get crazy busy at work, I cancel all my plans, but this week, none of them were cancel-able. So, I'm just doing it all.

But, its not going well.

I'm getting bitter, tired and stressed.

I'm watching Letterman right now, not because I think he's funny, but because I refuse to watch Leno (a topic I said I would write about but haven't yet). Letterman just did a daylight savings joke... On top off everything else I'm doing, I now need to worry about losing an hour?!

I can't take the thought of letting an hour go... but I am sort of excited about more daylight... not that I really get to enjoy it...

I'm done with this day. I'm going to sleep.
