Some excitement, mostly stress

The official countdown:

21 days until spring break
74 days until my classes will be over
96 days until I get married
98 days until I go to Hawaii

Somehow breaking the 100 day mark on the wedding freaks me out. In no way am I having cold feet about marrying Adam, that is probably the one thing that is keeping me sane. I suddenly realize how much stuff we need to do. Any decision we haven't yet made, we need to make now. Wedding planning has become the equivalent of a second job. All weekend long for the past 2 weekends we have been consumed with wedding errands. Some prosperous, others a complete waste of time as incompetent salespeople fuck up left and right. Case in point, attempting to buy a suit for Adam.

The place- Men's Warehouse at Southdale Mall
The time- Saturday morning, 2/16
Salesperson- Jerome

He tells Adam there are no suits in his size. Okay, we believe it. We pick out a nice suit we do like and he says he'll order it in so Adam can try it on. We also look at some tie options and I ask him to put (1) one ivory tie on hold that we will purchase with the suit. They call Adam to tell him the suit has come in. We return Sunday 2/24. The suit- too small. Pants don't fit, jacket too tight. The tailor is confused at the sizing as is the new salesperson. He's more helpful but sees annoyed that we are wasting his time. The suit we do want is still not in his size at this location so they need to get it shipped again. I look in the bag that contains the tie we do want. What do I find? (3) Three champagne ties. Huh. So NOT what we asked for. Thankfully they still had the one I did want. Thank you Men's Warehouse for being a complete waste of time and an extreme hassle and I'm going to have to go back AGAIN next week when the new suit comes in. Excellent.

I'm a two for one

Today, I am traveling in packs of two...

In my current possession, I have either two pairs or just two of the following:
Watches
Shoes
Books
Hats
Socks
Lotion
Pants
Shirts
ipods
eye wear (glasses and contacts- its a stretch, but still counts)
Veggie burgers (they come in packs of two, but nonetheless, I have 2 of them)

I'm a walking garage sale, except for the fact that I will try to put all of this into one timbuk2 bag for transportation home.

P.S. Thank you Starbucks in Block E for the free coffee this morning... I'm not sure what it is, but I heard free and I was sold.

London is calling- it's for you

Things have I have read or seen within the past day or so:

In a book I read- they had dinner at Wagamama
In a book I'm reading- someone went to Bar Rumba
Kate B- left a blog comment
Email containing Picadilly Circus pictures

Makes me want to take the tube to Picadilly to eat noodles and dance with friends from London.

Or just find a time machine to take me back to 2002.

Blurred Lines.

"We are more visible than ever before, so we need to be mindful that we are on display. Not just for our intended audience but for anyone who has the desire to look for us."

I just grabbed this quote off one of the comments from this article about blurred work and personal lives. http://www.drewsmarketingminute.com/2008/02/are-the-walls-b.html

It makes sense that work and personal lives blend. You interact with the people that you have things in common with, for many of us, that includes co-workers. I'm curious if this is occurring in all industries, or is it more prevalent in advertising since a lot of people happen to be in similar life stages? When I worked at a mortgage company, the majority of my co-workers were married with children and couldn't partake in spontaneous happy hours. Every event needed planning, now a 4:45 email about drink specials starting at 5 is common place.

Is it good to mix business with pleasure? Or is business pleasure?

Two by two

I attempted to watch a couple of movies last weekend, I didn't see either of them in their entirety, so I am trying again. Oddly enough, I just returned one of them to blockbuster and it's on TV right now, so I'm watching it again. I am noticing how much I miss the first time around. Should I really be watching movies more than once in order to make sure I don't miss anything?

If only there was the time...

Time, time, there's never any time.

Jumbled.

My head is jumbled. I set out to do all of my homework on the weekends so I would not have to spend precious sleeping time attempting to throw assignments together. What am I doing now? Not sleeping so I can think of a paper topic. Good thing is I think I have one. Weather or not its good is a whole other story. It has the potential to be good, or I could just screw it up and end up having to do a lot of work twice. My odds are on the latter.

I'm in my fifth week of my running class, that equates to 5 weeks of 6am running and I've only missed 1 day of class. I'm hitting up my third week of grad school classes, only 14 more to go, and 17 weeks until I get married. That's the first time I've counted it out. Adam and I are at the same point now, we just want it to happen. I'm sick of planning this silly wedding. A judge and a courthouse are looking pretty spectacular at this point. As long as I get to wear my dress, I will probably be happy... and go to Hawaii.

I am trying not be be stressed out right now, but I'm pretty sure its unavoidable.

I'm giving up and going to sleep. Everything is better after sleep.
