I hope the title go the Go Go's in your head.
Last year at this time, I was thinking about races. I had a year of races planned from Jan 1- Thanksgiving. Of course, I had no idea an injury would hinder me from racing most of them. This year? I'm thinking about travel. We bought a couple of travel books the other day and I can't wait to go somewhere. While I've enjoyed having half of December off, I would prefer to use my vacation time to actually go places!
This is my game plan for the year:
February: Miami
March: Chicago
April: NY
May/June: Las Vagas
July/August: California
We'll see what else shakes out, but that's what I'm hoping for.
Mmm, beach in the middle of a MN winter? Sign me up!

Time off.
I've been feeling very uninspired lately when it comes to writing. I got so burnt out from work this fall that my head just couldn't continue with coherent thoughts at the end of the day. Since I was working so much, I couldn't take some of the vacation days that I wanted and ended up with a surplus at the end of the year. Use it or lose it. So, I've been off work since last Thursday. I can't believe I've been out of work for a week, and I still have one more week off. In total, I'll have 18 days off and so far they've been spent, shopping, eating, drinking, cooking. Having friends over for dinner, meeting friends for drinks, just trying to fit it all in. I thought I'd have lots of time to relax, but surprisingly no. But, it is nice to have the time to see all of our family and out of town friends.
Hope you have a safe and happy holiday season!

When did December happen?
The snow on the ground and the calendars on my wall tell me it's December, but I just don't believe it. 3 weeks until Christmas? I suddenly understand why people put up Holiday decorations right after Thanksgiving. If you don't, time flies and the next thing you know, it's Christmas Eve. Since Adam and I have lived together (6 years now!) we've never decorated for Christmas. No lights. No tree. No stockings. Nothing. A lot of it has been our lack of ownership of any of those products. But our lack of room for storage and time to put up/take down are right there with it. It's just something that I can live without at our house. Especially since we celebrate with our families at their houses. I've always said that once we have kids, we'll decorate. But until then, no need.
I keep hearing that decorating gets people into the holiday spirit. I feel like I need some of that.
This year might be the year I break down and buy a string of lights for the mantel.
Maybe.
