The snow on the ground and the calendars on my wall tell me it's December, but I just don't believe it. 3 weeks until Christmas? I suddenly understand why people put up Holiday decorations right after Thanksgiving. If you don't, time flies and the next thing you know, it's Christmas Eve. Since Adam and I have lived together (6 years now!) we've never decorated for Christmas. No lights. No tree. No stockings. Nothing. A lot of it has been our lack of ownership of any of those products. But our lack of room for storage and time to put up/take down are right there with it. It's just something that I can live without at our house. Especially since we celebrate with our families at their houses. I've always said that once we have kids, we'll decorate. But until then, no need.
I keep hearing that decorating gets people into the holiday spirit. I feel like I need some of that.
This year might be the year I break down and buy a string of lights for the mantel.
Maybe.
