I haven't taken a week long vacation in a long time. I'll rephrase. I haven't taken a week long vacation that wasn't directly preceded or followed by a holiday since our honeymoon two years ago. I recall working late before and after to prep for being out of the office. It seems that Adam and I have been doing a lot of "long weekend" trips the past couple years. And nothing too extreme, just Chicago and Las Vegas. Perhaps we need to start going to different places instead of always going back to the same places. But the point is, we haven't been taking long trips, but we need to return to them.
As I sit here at work wondering which of my two monstrous projects I want to dive into, I realize why I don't take a lot of vacations. Or perhaps I need to re-think my strategy of taking vacations during the busy season of work.
I just have to make it through two more days of work. I can do this.
