I was on my way to an impromptu happy hour at Pizza Luce after work tonight when I witnessed something I haven't seen before.
A man kicking in a car.
I was the only one in the alley and saw a car pull up. The driver got out of the car, headed toward a parked car, and proceeded to kick at the driver's side door until he dented it. Then kicked the side mirror off. After that, he got back in his Audi and drove away.
I was there the whole time, just watching him attack the car as I slowly walked with my crutches toward the sidewalk. I wasn't really sure what to do. I couldn't really stop the man, and honestly didn't want to get in the way of a man taking out his rage on a car. But the only thing I thought to do, was take note of the license plate.
Most of the cars in the alley belong to Luce delivery drivers, so I told them when I got there what had happened. Sure enough, it was an employee's car. He was very grateful that I got the license plate and I guess I'm now a witness on the police report. I don't know if they will contact me about it. I'm sort of curious what happens in situations like this and if I need to do any more than just be the good Samaritan. So far, I've been rewarded with some free beer, pizza and carrot cake, and love Luce even more.
