It was Janna's birthday yesterday and the celebrating begin this evening. Adam went to Chicago today so I was flying solo. I guess a good way to tell how good your friends are is to see how far out of their way they will go to find you a way home. Typically Adam would be with me and therefore, Adam would take me home. But this evening, I was on my own and opted for public transportation. It was nice to know my friends "had my back". Janna made a special call to let me know who lived closet to me and Katie said that she would pick me up if I needed it. It's nice to know that people are out there for me if I need it.
I like to think that I am self sufficient, and can depend on myself to get home. I did it in London, I would think that I can do it in Mpls. It seems that I end up getting rides home from someone most of the time, so that depletes the self sufficiency. It's just nice to know that other people are here for me. I guess I don't really feel that way or haven't before. I'm not used to being able to depend on others or trust that they will get things done. I have generally been the one to make sure the assignment/project gets done.
I'm not sure if this makes sense. Maybe you too need to have had 2 red dragons specials, 1 chocolate martini and some vanilla whiskey... and be watching the cutting edge.
