Forced time off.

I should know this by now, but if I don't make time for myself, my body forces me to take time. I woke up on Saturday coughing and feeling completely exhausted. I decided a half marathon just wasn't in the cards, and decided a day of sleep was the best way to spend my time and my weekend. Adam wasn't feeling well either, so we relaxed the day away lounging on the couch and watching movies. At least I have learned that the second I start to feel sick that I need to lay low and rest up. Of course, it seems like I usually start to feel sick on a weekend so at least I get the weekend to fully recuperate. Since we weren't planning on being home on Halloween, we didn't buy any candy. We kept our outside lights off and tried to keep our inside lights as dim as possible as we hid out from any neighborhood kids wanting candy. It looked like a lot of houses on our block were dark, so I don't feel too bad about not providing sugary snacks to kids in costumes.

I originally started writing this blog to keep up with friends that I studied abroad in London with in 2002. Of course, it was quite a surprise to get a comment from Katie, a girl that was studying with me about BH&G. While at Target today, I picked up a copy to see what the "blast from the past" was. Greg, a guy that we studied with is featured (along with his very pregnant wife) in the "We did it" section for re-doing their kitchen. That was indeed a blast from the past! I haven't heard anything about him since we left London and then I see him in a magazine, very random. But, I do love when that happens. Thanks, Katie for letting me know about BH&G, I'm certainly not a regular reader, so I'm glad you pointed it out.

Happy Daylight savings time... I still look forward to my extra hour, but it seems that all my friends with kids aren't quite as excited as I am...

It was very random for me, too! I got the magazine subscription as a "free gift" for buying something from Amazon and usually it sits in a pile on the floor until I decide that it has enough dust on it to throw it in the recycle bin. This time, it came in the mail just as I was running out the door to a Dr. appt. so I decided to take it with. Very surreal. But it looks like Greg is happy and still with the same girl he was seeing when we were at SMUC. Sorry I am more of a lurker when reading your blog! We should start a group on Facebook or something. I really don't keep up with many people from London, which is sad.
