Insomnia.

Last night, after a 7.5 mile bike ride home from work and a 2 mile run/walk, I fully anticipated that I would be utterly exhausted and fall asleep the second my head hit the pillow. Sadly, I was wrong. I feel asleep pretty quickly, but I woke up around 2 am and was awake for a couple hours, just tossing and turning. I hate that. I wanted to get up around 6 to bike into work again and go for a run this morning. Granted, I probably should give my body a little bit of recovery time between a night work-out and a morning one, but today is a beautiful day and I wanted to at least ride my bike in. By the time I was even aware of what time it was, it was too late for me to ride in, so I kept sleeping. But not real sleep, just the 9 minute increments of sleep one can get in between the snooze button. I should have just gotten up at least, I always feel more tired when I do that. So, here I am with my first, of what will probably be several, cup of coffee for the day, trying to wake up and face the world. But all I really want is a nap.
