I don't know where the time is going this week, but some how its already Thursday. My to-do list at work is growing like a weed and I have no idea how I'm going to get it all done. Right now I'm too exhausted to think about it anymore. Hopefully I'll be revived tomorrow to get somethings done. Of course, I can't go to sleep before watching Conan.
As soon as the late night drama of NBC started to unfold, of course I was hooked. I spent 6 months of my life working on NBC and NBC properties and spent hours brainstorming ideas for Leno, Conan and Fallon's shows and how to promote them. I spent too much time trying to explain to everyone that the overlap of the three audiences were much smaller than we originally anticipated. Of course there was more overlap between Conan and Fallon's shows and Leno skews to an older audience... At the time I thought the same person will not watch all three shows, but they would end up splitting up their viewing, but all three shows would get watched. But then again, I thought Leno's show was actually going to be good...
I watched the first episode of Leno, the one with Jerry Seinfeld, some comedian at a car wash, a heart felt apology from Kayne and a performance with Jay-Z. It was painful. I never watched again. Clearly I wasn't the only one who felt this way. Obviously I don't do programming for NBC, I only got to tell them about their viewers for 6 months, but they've messed this one up big time. They're going to lose all their Conan fans, and while I dislike Letterman, I may allow him to humor me as I fall asleep. On that note... gotta go, Conan's on!
My thoughts on NBC are to be continued...
