Do I need to watch TV?

I had every intention of getting up and doing a pilates video this morning. Alas, it was so cold I just decided to stay in bed. I'm hoping I can get something in later. My sister made a comment to me when she was in town a couple months ago. We were making dinner and I stated, that I don't normally make such an elaborate meal and she asked "Why? Because you just come home and watch TV?". Of course I got defensive and said "No, because I have school". For some reason, this comment has stuck with me and I keep thinking about it. I love CBS's lineup on Monday nights, or at least Big Bang Theory and HIMYM, but as I was getting ready this morning, I kept thinking about all the things I need to get done: Homework, cleaning, laundry, help Adam pack for his work trip to CA tomorrow (this will consist of me asking- "do you have..." and listening to Adam list off everything he has/needs). I was thinking, how can I watch my shows and get all of the things done?! Obvious answer, I watch them later. Suddenly I realized that I could potentially sit on the couch for 3 hours watching TV and not get anything I need to done. This sounded absolutely ridiculous. We have a DVR, I can watch my stories later, but the bigger picture is, how much more could I do if I watched less TV? Granted, I do need to watch some TV for my job, but potentially I can watch less. Of course, I say this now before my day has really gotten started, I forgot how mentally drained I am at the end of the day and how nice it can be to veg-out for a little but.

These are just some of my thoughts this AM- my head seems to be on overdrive this AM.
